Crazy Work Day (i.e. day 5)

Today we got up and tried to leave as early as possible from the Wal-Mart parking lot but as always that didn’t work out. We had to make breakfast, clean up the van and make a quick trip to Wal-Mart to pickup a few extra things (including drinking water) as well as filling up the Firebus. We ended up leaving at close to 11 AM.

Although we were only about 40 min away from Fundy National Park yet it took us over 5 hours to get there due to some emergency calls from work (for both Alessia and I). Because we were driving in to a national park, about 20 min before the park the cell phone signal was fading. We ended up having to do a loop and go somewhere were we could get five bars (even though it was on the slow internet). We ended up parking at this odd ice cream store (a old house that was re-made into a store) and went in to grab a cone of ‘Famous Home-Made Recipe’ ice cream – it was actually pretty good! Unfortunately though, we ended up sitting in the store lot for over 3 hours doing our work.

When we first turned around to go back to better cell phone signal I was able to jump out and take a few photos of an amazing cemetery, check this out:

Many of the headstones stones showed those who had died at a really young age

some were from as far back as the 1800’s

and others had cracked and worn over time..

Once we were all done with work we headed to the park and found that we had to pay around 7 dollars (per person) to enter the park and then another 25 dollars to stay in the park. I guess that’s the cost of nature.

Today was also our first day to have fire! and if you don’t already know, I love fire!

We spent the rest of the night relaxing in front of the fire roasting up some sausages and then marshmallows – how could you go wrong with a reasonably warm night, a fire and a full moon?

Tomorrow’s plan – hiking in Fundy
